Dr. Lauren Rush was born and raised in and around New York City. She initially completed a dual Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies and TV/Film at Syracuse University. However, after pursuing a career in film editing and living throughout South America, Los Angeles and back to NYC, she decided to change careers and follow her lifelong passion of caring for animals.

Dr. Rush began her veterinary career working with wildlife including wolves, elephants, primates and more. After returning to school, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Metropolitan State University of Denver and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University. During her continued education, Dr. Rush worked as a small animal veterinary assistant/technician for 8 years.

Her clinical interests include emergency, exotic and internal medicines, specifically trauma, kidney injury, and toxicosis.

In her free time, you can find Dr. Rush avidly cheering for all her teams (especially the New York Mets), enjoying activities on the water, traveling, and watching nerdy movies with her husband Carter and their animals -- Suave their beyond perfect American Staffordshire Terrier, Durango their crazy Australian Shepherd, Meeko & Baloo their foster-fail tuxedo cat littermates, and Scooter the cutest little Holland lop bunny.
