Due to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, the Furry Scurry will now be a VIRTUAL event!
The Dumb Friends League’s annual signature fundraising event benefits homeless pets in Denver – and this year, to protect pets and their people, it’s going virtual.
Veterinary Specialists of the Rockies is sponsoring the event and will provide helpful information to dog owners leading up to and during the day of the event.
Don’t have a dog (yet)? Not to worry! You and other animal lovers are invited to join us on Saturday, May 2 in any way you like. Sleep in or get up early, and then do things like taking a walk around the block, going for a hike or jogging on your home treadmill. No matter how you choose to participate, you can feel good knowing you’re helping homeless pets (and horses) in the community.
“Animals need us now more than ever,” said Dr. Apryl Steele, president and CEO of the Dumb Friends League. “We have been a safety net for than a million pets since 1910, and we take this responsibility seriously, especially during these challenging times.”
Registration is just $45 for adults and $25 for children 12 and younger. Registered participants receive a T-shirt, printable bib, access to an exciting virtual marketplace with exclusive offers from sponsors and vendors, and access to a post-event party where participants can pick up their T-shirts and fundraising incentives and celebrate Furry Scurry (on a future date!) once people can safely gather.
On event day, Saturday, May 2, you can even take part in interactive online contests and engage with Veterinary Specialists of the Rockies and the Dumb Friends League through social media. Plan now to share photos and videos of YOUR virtual walks on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter!
Visit furryscurry.org to register today or to learn more about the event. “See” you there.
