Celebrate Our First Year as Your Castle Rock Emergency Veterinarian [Win Prizes]

After years of putting in the hard work necessary to gain experience at an emergency veterinary hospital, our founder, Dr. Megan Rector, decided that she was ready to venture out into her own private practice.

She noticed a market gap when it came to providing 24-hour emergency veterinary services in the Castle Rock community. Pet owners would have to rush to Denver or Parker for after-hours emergency care, hardly an ideal situation when time is of the essence!

Thus, Veterinary Specialists of the Rockies was born and became an option for emergency services for those seeking Castle Rock veterinarians.

The hospital, which is open 24/7/365, boasts a space of more than 10,000 square feet, the main level and basement. The spacious veterinary hospital houses 8 exam rooms, 3 surgery suites, a critical care area, and a treatment area, in addition to space for patients primarily comprised of cats and dogs.

As if that weren’t enough, the hospital also has a complete lab, ultrasound machine, and radiology equipment, so that necessary tests can be quickly performed in-house. We also employ radiologists and have a board-certified cardiologist on staff in case pets need ultrasounds or echocardiograms.

Our team of 25 employees also includes board-certified veterinarians and experienced ER doctors, whose specialties include emergency and critical care, cardiology, and radiology, with additional services being added frequently. The large team allows for highly-customized patient care plans to serve every pet that comes in.

In addition to the veterinarians on staff, Dr. Rector employs a valued support team of front desk staff and technicians, headed by Hospital Administrator Tammi Morrison. Having easy access to these professionals ensures that it’s not just Dr. Rector’s patients, mainly those dogs and cats already mentioned, who get the VIP treatment when they come in. Pet parents are treated like the special guests they are, too, and can wait in a beautiful sitting area, complete with comfy chairs, an ambient fireplace, and TVs. There are also separate areas and entrances for cats and dogs to ensure everyone’s comfort.

Since we opened our doors in September 2018, Veterinary Specialists of the Rockies has completely transformed the typical high-stress emergency vet visit into something decidedly less tense for pets and their families.
