Prior to becoming a veterinarian, she graduated from Bentley University in Waltham, MA with a degree in Computer Science and Business. She received her Certificate in Pre Medical Studies at Harvard University and was accepted at Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine.

After graduating from veterinary school, she moved to Colorado for an internship at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital, then returned to Tufts for a residency in Emergency and Critical Care. After finishing her residency, she became boarded in Emergency and Critical Care and moved to Pittsburgh, PA to start the ICU and Blood Bank at a specialty hospital. She eventually became an owner of the practice until it was acquired by a corporation.

Dr. Guenther fondly remembered her time in Colorado, and she and her family decided to live the Colorado dream! For 3 years, she worked at a local specialty veterinary hospital in Denver where she started the Critical Care Service and Blood Bank. Now having joined the Veterinary Specialists of the Rockies team, Dr. Guenther will be the Critical Care specialist.

Outside of work, Dr. Guenther is an avid skier and enjoys concerts (especially Foo Fighters!). She enjoys hiking, climbing and camping with her husband George and their four dogs (a lab Wynne, an itty pitty Darcy, a hound mix Durango, and a young lab Josie). They also have two elderly cats Jethro Sanchez and Holly Berry. Dr. Guenther is an avid gardener and plant enthusiast and is always trying to find more space for her plants.
